Hi, welcome to the Indian Couple Fitness podcast. I'm Ravi, and I'm Amulya. We welcome you to episode number one. In this podcast, we'll cover topics about fitness, lifestyle, and how, as a couple, you can build up your fitness. We're super excited about this.

My name is Amulya, and I have a background in computer science engineering. I've worked in various companies like IBM and Keystone. Currently, I'm working at a company named Amdocs.

Ravi: I'm also a mechanical engineer with around 10 years of corporate experience, including TCS and Robert Bosch. In 2021, I left the corporate world to become a full-time fitness coach. In this episode, we'll discuss how we accidentally became fitness coaches, as it wasn't our original plan.
Now, let's talk about how we met.

When I met Ravi, he wasn't much of a fitness enthusiast. He used to go jogging, running, and skipping to impress me. We used to live close to each other even before we got married, and we used to go to parks for early morning workouts.
Our journey started in July, and we got married in November. During those six months, we met daily, and things were going well. However, I noticed a change in Ravi's fitness. He started gaining weight because he loved to eat out, and he was a foodie. We even created an 80-20 rule, where he ate 80% of the food, and I ate 20%.

During our wedding, I was worried about Ravi's weight gain, and there was a funny incident where I had to climb a horse, and I was worried about my trousers tearing due to his weight. Ravi gained a lot of weight, and he reached 96.3 kgs.

As a spouse, it was concerning to see his declining fitness and motivation. He became lazy and would sleep right after work. There were times when he told me he'd fall asleep while riding his bike, which was very worrisome. Physical attraction plays a vital role in a relationship, and our chemistry was fading due to his weight gain.

In our future episodes, we'll delve deeper into these aspects. As we continue our journey to becoming accidental fitness coaches, I'd like to share how I started this transformation. One night, I asked Ravi how long he'd keep making excuses for his weight gain. He was creative with his excuses, but it was clear they were just excuses. That hit him hard, and he decided to make a change.
He started by developing good habits, like waking up early. It took some time, but he eventually succeeded. He invested in his health and fitness, sought coaching, and lost 25 kgs in 11 months. People started asking him how he did it, and that's when his journey to educate others began.

I'll let Ravi share his experience of preparing for the ACE examination.
Ravi: I registered for the ACE certification, paid the fee, and started studying for the examination. I had to balance studying with a demanding job, often working more than nine hours a day. However, I was determined, and I even took a break from work to focus on my preparation. I managed to score 80% in the examination.

Amulya: After Ravi's success, we started helping people in our community. Inspired by his dedication, I decided to become a yoga trainer. Together, we combined fitness and nutrition with yoga to help people transform. We initially offered free coaching, and people began getting results. They eventually asked if they could pay for our services, leading to our accidental journey as fitness coaches.

Ravi: We're now the founders of Body Shred Hub community, serving hundreds of people, including working professionals, homemakers, business owners, and students. Most of our clients are couples looking for accountability and guidance.

Amulya: In our next episode, we'll share success stories of individuals who followed our system and lost significant weight. We'll discuss the strategies they used.
